“Work Hard”

God’s Word plainly teaches that we are to work hard. Wise Solomon wrote, “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might…” (Ecclesiastes 9:10). Our song book is filled with songs teaching us of the importance of working hard for the Lord. Notice a few lines from some of these songs: “To the work! To the work! We are servants of God, Let us follow the path that our Master has trod….” “Work, for the night is coming….” “We’ll work till Jesus comes, And we’ll be gathered home.”

Let’s notice these two words, Work Hard:

W - willingly (Colossians 3:23).

O - offer our labor as worship (Romans 12:1).

R - rely on God’s strength (Ephesians 6:10).

K - keep stedfast in the work of the Lord (I Corinthians 15:57,58).

H - honor God with excellence (I Corinthians 10:31).

A - aspire to serve others (Galatians 5:13).

R - reap the harvest faithfully (John 4:34,35).

D - dedicate our efforts to God’s kingdom (Matthew 6:33).
