“Whosoever”

May 15, 2026 · Tim Fuqua

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:17).

“Whosoever” equals Jew or Gentile or a mix of these two groups. It is anyone, anywhere at anytime (II Corinthians 6:2) can obey the gospel of Christ and be saved (Romans 1:16). Salvation is in Christ and we get into Christ by being baptized (II Timothy 2:10; Galatians 3:26-29). Some say from this verse that all you must do to be saved is to call upon the name of the Lord and you will be saved. The question we must ask is, ‘How do we call upon the name of the Lord?’ This same apostle gives us the answer to our question when he gave his account of his being saved. Notice in Acts 22:16: “And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.” Have you called on the name of the Lord by being baptized that your sins can be washed away? Why not now? Give us a call at anytime at 731-414-5092, if we can help in anyway. Love y’all and have a blessed Friday, Tim
