“The Church Has Left The Building”

August 30, 2026 · Tim Fuqua

I saw someone wearing this saying on their shirt. I like the saying because what I get from this saying is that the church is not only in our building during worship, but it is to leave the building and serve the Lord outside the walls of the building. There was a saying in the foyer of the congregation where I grew up that said, “Enter to worship. Depart To Serve.” Amen church! Our Lord gave us a commission to carry the gospel to all the world (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15,16). Jesus also told us to be benevolent (Matthew 25:31-46) and we as the people of God must encourage others on a daily basis (Ephesians 4:12-16). So we can quickly see that the church must leave the building.

However, to leave the building we must frequent the building through our faithful attendance (Revelation 2:10). We must gather with our brothers and sisters and worship and praise our God (John 4:24; Hebrews 13:15). We must also see the importance of studying God’s Word in Sunday School and Wednesday Night Bible Classes (II Timothy 2:15). It is our prayer that we will see you this morning at 10 A.M. for Sunday School. We will worship at 11 A.M. and 6 P.M. Our Wednesday Night Bible Classes are at 7 P.M. on Wednesdays. We hope to see you today.

Then we must leave the building and be about our Father’s business! Yes, the church must leave the building and be the church on a daily basis. It’s okay to wear a shirt with this saying, but it is more important to live it 24/7. Love y’all and see y’all in and out of the building, Tim

P.S. Sign up to work in our booth at the fair this week! The list is in the foyer.

Get some cards and be inviting others to our Bring A Friend Day on September 13, 2026.
