“Let’s Stop Looking For Excuses To Miss Church Services”

I’m too tired!

I’m too busy!

It’s my only day off!

I don’t feel like getting up!

It’s my only day to sleep in!

I heard of a brother who would say, “Turnip greens” when someone would be giving an excuse. They would ask him why are you saying turnip greens and he would say, “I don’t like them and one excuse is as good as another.” Read Exodus 3 and 4 and notice what God thought about Moses’ excuses. It angered God then and it angers God now when we make excuses. My Dad use to say, “You do what you want to do.” If we want to do something, we don’t make excuses. We simply do it!

The time to stop making excuses is right now! It is never wrong to do the right thing and it is never right to do the wrong thing! There is no better place to be than in God’s house at every opportunity that we have to worship and serve Him. God deserves our best efforts and no excuse in the world justifies anything different!
