“If Everyone Had A Mother Like Mine”

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our mothers!!! We love all of you!!! I especially want to thank my wife for being a great Mom!!! We love her and want to thank her for all she does!!!

It has been almost 9 years since my Mom left this world. There has been many a time that I wished I could call her and ask her advice on things. My sisters and I were very fortunate to have a Christian mother. In her memory let’s notice in our devo today, “If Everyone Had A Mother Like Mine.”

I. My Mother’s Love (Titus 2:4).

What a tremendous privilege to grow up in a Christian home with parents who loved their children. It is not the case in every home. Mothers love your husbands and your children.

II. My Mother’s Example (Ezekiel 16:44; II Timothy 1:5).

My Mom was a tremendous Christian example for all of us to follow (I Corinthians 11:1). We could follow my Mom because she followed Christ. Mothers set the right kind of example before your families and others.

III. My Mother’s Care (Proverbs 31:10, 27-31).

My Mom cared for her family, friends, and her church family. Mothers care for yours!!!

IV. My Mother’s Teachings (II Timothy 3:14,15).

My Mother taught us at home and at Sunday School. We all as parents have an awesome responsibility to teach our children, grandchildren, and our great grandchildren (Proverbs 22:6).

V. My Mother’s Advice (Proverbs 1:8).

Hardly a week goes by without thinking of one of my Mama’s proverbs. Mothers need to give good advice.

VI. My Mother’s Faithfulness (Ephesians 5:21,22).

She was faithful to my Dad. They were married for 62 years. Most important was her faithfulness to our Lord (Revelation 2:10b). My Mom passed away on a Thursday morning at about 7 A.M. What was really important was where Mom was 12 hours before her death. She was at Wednesday Night Bible Class on an oxygen tank. Mothers be faithful throughout your lives and the victory will be yours (I Corinthians 15:57,58).

My sisters and I were fortunate to have a good mother. If everyone had a Mother like ours, the world would be a better place!!! Mothers be the kind of mother God would have you to be!!! Happy Mother’s Day to all our mothers!!! Love y’all, Tim
