“How To Build A Great Congregation?” (Part 1)

If the Lord wills Sunday, we will notice 3 parts to the lesson with the above title. Every congregation ought to seek to improve in every area. There are no perfect congregations and no perfect members. We should all strive to be all we can be for the Lord. That is the idea for this series of lessons and devos.

There are no easy answers, no quick fixes, no magical formulas in building or improving every congregation of the Lord’s church. Church growth comes only through trust in God, hard work, steadfastness, many prayers, preaching the Word, right living, good leadership, faithful followers, putting the kingdom first, helping others, and seeking and saving the lost.

In today’s devo, let’s notice that to build a great congregation, we must understand our purpose. Read Ephesians 3:20,21; Matthew 5:16; I Corinthians 10:31. Our purpose in the Lord’s church is to glorify God!!! How do we do glorify God in His church:

1) By seeking and saving the lost (Luke 19:10; Matthew 28:18-20; I Timothy 4:16).

2) By serving the suffering (Matthew 25:31-46; James 1:27).

3) By strengthening the saved (Ephesians 4:12-16).
