“How Do You Spell Success?”
There was a cheer when I was in school called “Success.” Success that is how you spell success. I use to joke and say that our cheerleaders need a cue card to spell success. How do we spell success in this life? There is no elevator to success. We have to take the stairs, one step at a time. Success takes patience, persistence, and a lot of hard work.
The apostle Paul wrote to Timothy in I Timothy 6:6, “But godliness with contentment is great gain.” Do what God says in His Word and be happy about it is the real key to spiritual success. We are not going to carry our finances with us (I Timothy 6:7). Be happy with what we have in this life (I Timothy 6:8). The desire to being rich generally causes problems and is not the key to success (I Timothy 6:9) and the unlawful desire for money is the root of all evil (I Timothy 6:10).
The key to success is found in the following verses. Flee the bad and follow the good (I Timothy 6:11). “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life…” (I Timothy 6:12). Follow the example of our Lord (I Timothy 6:13-16). Trust in God and not our riches (I Timothy 6:17). If we do good, we can “lay hold on eternal life” (I Timothy 6:18,19). That is how you spell success! Hope to see you tonight in our Wednesday Night Bible Classes at 7 P.M. Love y’all and have a blessed day, Tim
