“Fruit Full” (Part 5) “Full Of Patience” (Galatians 5:22,23; James 5:11; Job 9)

Waiting is hard. We struggle with what we feel is idleness. Patience often gets a reputation for no movement, idleness, or a waste of time. But patience is far from idleness. It is a fruit of the Spirit, a reflection of our Lord in the lives of His people. Patience is a part of our faithfulness and trust as we walk with our Lord.

James tells us to consider Job if we want to see patience in action. Let’s look at Job 9 and notice three lessons on the subject of patience:

I. Patience Acknowledges That God Is King (Job 9:1-12)!

II. Patience Teaches Us That God Moves First (Job 9:13-24)!

III. Patience Seeks A Bridge To God First (Job 9:25-35)!

As the story of Job ends, God blesses Job’s patience with His presence and assurance (Job 42:10ff). Patience is an active seeking for the presence of God. It is a time when we acknowledge that God is king and wait on God. Let’s be full of patience!
