“Fruit Full” (Part 3) “Full Of Joy” (Galatians 5:22,23; John 15:9-11; Philippians 4:4).

In our world today, we often mix the truth of joy with the idea of being happy. Biblically, these two are different. Happiness is the result of a circumstance or our surroundings. Joy is aware and understanding of the presence of God. Both make us smile, but joy remains when happiness is hard to come by in this life.

The fruit of the spirit is the maturing of the character of Christ in our lives. Joy is a part of our identity in Christ. One of the Biblical pictures of joy is Paul’s relationship with the church at Philippi. In our devo today, let us notice three reasons for joy in the book of Philippians:

I. Paul Found Joy In The Philippians “Fellowship In The Gospel” (Philippians 1:3-11).

II. Paul Found Joy In Sacrifice (Philippians 2:16-18).

III. Paul Found Joy in the Lord (Philippians 4:4-7).

I love to sing, “I’ve Got The Joy, Joy, Joy, Down In My Heart.” Can’t sing or hear that song without putting a smile on your face and joy in your heart. The fruit of the spirit is joy. Joy is the awareness of the power of God at work in our everyday lives (Philippians 4:13). “O Happy Day” when Jesus washed our sins away.
