“Fruit Full” (Part 10) “Full Of Self-Control” (Galatians 5:22,23; Daniel 1:8,9)

July 6, 2026 · Tim Fuqua

Self-control means surrendering our desires to God. This characteristic takes time and effort. A great example of self-control is seen in the life of Daniel (Daniel 1:8,9). Let’s look at three steps to self-control:

I. Self-Control Calls Us To Say No To Self And To The World (Romans 12:1,2; I John 2:15-17).

II. Self-Control Calls Us To Say Yes To God (I John 5:3).

III. Self-Control Trusts That God Knows Best (Proverbs 3:5).

There are two more great examples of self-control in the book of Daniel. The three friends refused to bow to the idol - they said no to the world, they said yes to God, and they put their trust in God. Another example is Daniel in the lion’s den. Daniel obeyed and trusted in God from his youth unto his old age. Let’s follow these great examples in the book of Daniel. Tomorrow, we will notice the final lesson in this series of devos. We will look at the subject of “A Fruit Full Walk.” We will notice three lessons from the life of Noah. Love y’all and have a great week, Tim
