“DO”

Aristotle said, ‘We are what we repeatedly do.” The word “do” emphasizes active obedience, daily practice, and living out our faith through action. The New Testament writer James tells us to be doers of the Word (James 1:21-25). Many other New Testament verses tell us, as Christians, that there are many things we are to do:

“…Do hunger and thirst after righteousness” (Matthew 5:6).

“…Do good to them that hate you” (Matthew 5:44).

“…Whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them” (Matthew 7:12).

“…Do the will of my Father” (Matthew 12:50).

“…Let us do good unto all men” (Galatians 6:10).

“Do all things without murmurings and disputings” (Philippians 2:14).

“That they do good, that they be rich in good works…” (I Timothy 6:18).

“…Do his will” (Hebrews 13:21).

“…Do those things that are pleasing in his sight” (I John 3:22).

On the very last page of the Bible the apostle of love wrote, “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city” (Revelation 22:14).
